Selma Hortense Burke

St. Augustine Training School For nurses.

An African- American sculptor.

She educated others in her passion of art.

she founded two art schools, one in New York City and another in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Her art is on display in Washington D.C and North Carolina.

Burke is best known for her bas relief of President Franklin D. Roosevelt.

Dr. Selma was a true pioneer. a vessel god the creator used to bring forth creation from clay. Her gift of creativity from the creator gave us the message of love , persistence with integrity and education. a true icon. More images to view below of her works.
