Daniel McCree

He was from Chicago and invented a portable fire escape that was designed to be left at properties. The device featured a cart and a rolling ladder and had a carriage that could be raised and lowered. It was intended to be part of a building’s own fire prevention equipment and stored on location placed along the side of the building, allowing people to escape.

While this design is now outdated, it was completely revolutionary at the time and is the basis of today’s escape route but more updated affixed to buildings and three story homes. McCree contributions for his role in escape routes in fire emergency that save lives has never been forgotten. Daniel McCree did received patent 440,322 on 11/11/1890.
