Inventor of the automatic dishwasher detergent known as Cascade.
Dr. Weatherby was born December 4, 1959 in Brighton, Alabama, he was the son of Willie and Flossie Mae Weatherby.
Dennis Weatherby attended Central State University (CSU) in Wilberforce, Ohio, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry in 1982. He attended University of Dayton thereafter and attained his master’s degree in chemical engineering in 1984. He went and worked for Procter and Gamble . at the age of 27 he was assigned to a team to develop and new detergent . The two chemist Dr. Weatherby and Dr.Brian J. Roselle invented the lemon cleaning detergent for the dishwasher and, received U.S. patent No. 4,714,562, issued on Dec. 22, 1987.
