Liston Abbott  Liston Abbot specialised in communication systems (TV, radio, telephone, microwaves, satellite, digital processing). He held seven U.S. patents, published over 30 technical papers and played an instrumental part in the development of today’s current digital HDTV standard.
Dr Lawson Douglas  In 1971, Dr Lawson Douglas and his urology team, assisted by Dr Sam Street performed the first kidney transplant was in Jamaica.  This were not only a ‘first’ for Jamaica, but also ‘first’ for the Caribbean and the countries of the Third World.

He also in 1985 established the Foundation for International Self Help (FISH) clinic, in Papine. This clinic offers medical services with a particular focus on the treatment of eye related sicknesses to lower-income groups and the very poor.
Dr Thomas LeckyDr Lecky is responsible for developing two new breeds of cattle – the Jamaica Hope, developed out of the British Jersey (small) with genes from the Holstein (heavy milk producer) and the Indian Sahiwal (disease resistant)- that were specifically created thrive in Jamaica’s tropical conditions
Leo LewisLewis, formerly of Georgetown, St. Vincent, made a major breakthrough in audio industry with his top-class invention, the Vitae Loudspeaker.
Dr Henry Lowe  Dr. Henry Lowe has contributed approximately 50 years to the fields of science, technology, and the health sciences nationally, regionally and internationally.   His recognitions include the Prime Minister’s National Medal in Science & Technology, Order of Jamaica, and Commander of the Order of Distinction. Dr. Lowe is a scientist, author, educator, and successful entrepreneur. He was educated at the University of the West Indies, University of Sydney (MSc), Manchester University (PhD), Harvard University, and MIT.
Buddy Miller  Miller invented and patented the game, Brainstorm, in 1977.  He alleged that Trivial Pursuit (invented in 1981) is based on his game. He wasn’t able to pursue the case very far legally, because he’d only copyrighted his game in Trinidad and Tobago.
Dolly Nicholas  Dolly Nicholas is the first and only woman to receive a Trinidad and Tobago national award for scientific invention. She has received both the Public Service Medal of Merit and the Chaconia Medal (Silver) for her inventions and contribution to the field of science and technology.   She holds in total eight patents for different commercially useful processes.
